What is the FCC Program?

From the FCC Telehealth Program description:

“The COVID-19 Telehealth Program will provide$200 million in funding, appropriated by Congress as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, to help health care providers provide connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations in response to the novel Coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) pandemic.  The Program will provide immediate support to eligible health care providers responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by fully funding their telecommunications services.”

Who Should Apply?

Any eligible nonprofit or public health program looking to improve the oral health and dental care of the population they serve. That could include:

  • Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHCs)
  • School-based health clinics (SBHCs)
  • Community Health Centers (CHCs)
  • Senior care facilities
  • Oral health programs
  • Post-secondary educational institutions offering health care instruction, teaching hospitals, and medical schools
  • Local health departments or agencies
