FEMA and PPE Guidelines

PPE shortages continue to cause concern among the medical and dental communities. FEMA recently released updated practice guidelines with recommendations to “Reduce, Reuse and Repurpose” PPE and suggestions on how to implement standards.

Dental offices nationwide continue to struggle to find adequate PPE to protect themselves and staff members, causing for disinfection and reuse of certain products. FEMA addresses recommendations of conventional care (with normal rate of availability) to crisis care where PPE is being reused due to a shortage. In accordance with the FEMA guidelines it is recommended to “incorporate auxiliary aids and services into technology-based alternatives such as tele-consultation.”

Incorporating TeleDent as part of your dental practice allows you to safely connect with patients in need during times of the pandemic, all while conserving PPE and money.
