MouthWatch attended the 158th annual Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, held in Chicago, for three days of continuing education opportunities, presentations, and exhibits featuring the newest dental products and technology for 2023.
This year’s floor was noticeably more crowded, with the event bringing 20,850 attendees, nearly 4,000 more than last year, and over 500 exhibitors to the event’s venue, McCormick Place. Dentists, dental team members, and students walked the floor, with many stopping by the MouthWatch booth along the way.
Attendees who visited our booth tried out the MouthWatch Intraoral Camera and the recently updated MouthWatch Plus+ Intraoral Camera on typodont models. We also showcased our new Intraoral Camera Carrying Case, which makes it easy to keep your intraoral camera and camera accessories organized and secure. The carrying case is also now a part of the Intraoral Camera Student Bundle, which is available for currently enrolled dental and hygiene students.
Seasoned attendees of the Midwinter meeting were quick to notice a new addition to the MouthWatch booth: Dentistry. One, virtual-first dental care company introduced by MouthWatch at Chicago Midwinter.
Recognizing the increasing demands of today’s busy patients, the need for greater efficiency in healthcare, and the proven connection between good oral health and total health, Dentistry. One was built to offer a national network of on-demand dentists; Care Advisors for personalized care coordination of in-office dental visits and oral health coaching; a digital connection between dental and medical care through its own proprietary software; benefits navigation to help patients more easily obtain care; and recommendations for the latest oral healthcare products and services.
Dentistry. One will also help address current challenges in the delivery of oral health care, such as dental practice staffing shortages and access to care limitations, by offering a convenient solution for getting patients the care they need when they need it. Learn more about Dentistry. One in this recent press release.
MouthWatch’s TeleDent continues to help dental professionals manage their practice workflows by enabling effective communication with their patients through live video and real-time messaging, sharable clinical images, treatment plans, and remote monitoring capabilities that keep patients engaged in their care.
Improving the Patient Experience
Throughout the event, we conversed with attendees looking to add new technology, like intraoral cameras and teledentistry, to their practice to make the patient experience more engaging and collaborative.
Visitors looking to upgrade their practice’s patient experience got hands-on with our standard and Plus+ cameras. We like to point out how adding a MouthWatch intraoral camera to their workflow can enhance the in-office patient experience. When patients see clear intraoral images of areas their dentist is explaining to them, they become more confident discussing their oral health and, crucially, more invested in getting treatment, improving both case acceptance and patient outcomes. That’s why we say about our cameras: See. Show. Treat. Repeat.
The topic of improving the patient experience extended beyond the MouthWatch booth, with many other exhibitors and CE courses also focusing on the topic. At the Chicago Midwinter’s Corporate Learning Theater, courses like Dave Weber’s “Power of Words in Building Relationships” and Judy Mausolf’s “Delivering WOW Service” were just two of many that focused on improving provider-patient communication and getting patients engaged with their oral health.
We’d like to thank every attendee who stopped by our booth and made MouthWatch part of their CDS Midwinter experience. It was great connecting with MouthWatch Intraoral Camera and TeleDent users and hearing about how our solutions have impacted your practices and curriculums. We’d also like to thank the amazing team at the Chicago Dental Society for all of their hard work and commitment to making each CDS Midwinter meeting even better than the last! We look forward to connecting with everyone again next year at CDS Midwinter 2024!
